Prime Minister, Tammam Salam (R)

Prime Minister, Tammam Salam, on Friday met at the Grand Serail Minister of Public Health, Wael Abu Faour, and Minister of Education and Higher Learning, Elias Bu Saab.
He later welcomed United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Sigrid Kaag, who said that the meeting with the Prime Minister was "fruitful" after her return from New York and Washington.
"New York visit was periodic and aimed to inform the Security Council of resolution 1701 and the comprehensive approach relevant to Lebanon and which we adopted. The Security Council's meeting was very fruitful," she told reporters following the meeting.
"We had with the Prime Minister deep discussions on a number of items broached during the Security Council's meeting and which of course constitute a joint viewpoint on the necessity of moving forward in Lebanon and the necessity of the democratically elected institutions as well as the necessity of the presidency of the republic," she continued.
"I also discussed with Prime Minister Salam the issue of Syrian refugees on the eve of the holding of the donors' conference in Kuwait, in addition to security and stability in Lebanon, especially that the region is still in a very wobbling situation," she indicated.
"For these reasons, our efforts are focused on security, stability, and the continuity of cooperation with the Prime Minister and his government as well as with local partners who are working for the interest of Lebanon and its people," she added.
Separately, Salam met today with State Security Chief, General George Qaraa, MP Alaaeddin Terro, and Head of the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee, Hassan Mneimneh.
