At least seven militants were killed and ten others injured in fresh air strikes in the Khyber tribal region of northern Pakistan on Saturday, said state owned Radio Pakistan.
The military jets targeted hideouts of banned outfits in Tirah valley of Khyber tribal belt bordering Afghanistan, killing at least seven militants, it said, adding the security forces also occupied important mountainous positions of the militants during the ground offensive in Tirah. Earlier on Wednesday, at least 34 suspected militants were killed in air strikes conducted by military jets in Khyber tribal regions.
Khyber is one of Pakistan's seven semi-autonomous regions governed by tribal laws and facing militants' insurgency. The air strikes are an ongoing military offensive against the foreign and local militants in the tribal areas.
